Family-Based Immigration

At Haim Vasquez Immigration Law Firm, we understand that family is everything. Our mission is to help you bring—and keep—your loved ones together in the United States through compassionate, knowledgeable, and thorough legal representation. Whether you’re petitioning for a spouse, child, parent, or sibling, we guide you through every step of the complex U.S. immigration process with clarity and care.

Adjustment of Status (Form I-485)

Adjustment of status allows eligible individuals already in the U.S. to apply for lawful permanent residency (a green card) without leaving the country. This process is commonly used when A U.S. citizen petitions for a spouse, child, or parent; a lawful permanent resident petition for a spouse or unmarried child; or a fiancé(e) enters on a K-1 visa and applies after marriage

Our Services Include:

  • Preparing and filing Form I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status)
  • Concurrent filing with Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative)
  • Supporting documentation (affidavit of support, medical exams, bona fide relationship evidence, etc.)
  • Preparing clients for adjustment interviews and attending when needed

Removal of Conditions of Permanent Residency (Form I-751)

If you obtained a green card through marriage and it was issued conditionally (valid for 2 years), you must file Form I-751 to remove those conditions and receive a 10-year green card. We help couples and individuals—whether filing jointly or requesting a waiver due to divorce, abuse, or hardship—navigate this critical process.

Our Services Include:

  • Filing Form I-751 with strong supporting evidence of a genuine relationship
  • Waiver requests based on divorce, abuse (VAWA), or good faith marriage exceptions
  • Responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and preparing for interviews

Green Card Renewal (Form I-90)

Lawful permanent residents must renew their green cards every 10 years. We assist with the timely and accurate filing of Form I-90 to help avoid lapses in documentation or disruptions in work and travel.

Our Services Include:

  • Replacement of lost, stolen, or damaged green cards
  • Updates for name changes or incorrect information
  • Tracking processing times and preparing for biometric appointments

Representation for Victims of Domestic Violence (VAWA Petitions & U Visas)

We provide compassionate, confidential support to survivors of domestic violence who may be eligible for immigration relief through VAWA (Violence Against Women Act): Allows certain abused spouses, children, or parents of U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents to self-petition for a green card without their abuser’s knowledge or consent (Form I-360).

Our Services Include:

  • Filing Form I-360 for VAWA self-petitioners
  • Gathering evidence of abuse, good moral character, and qualifying relationship
  • Requesting the law enforcement for U visa certifications (Form I-918 Supplement B)
  • Preparing and submitting complete U visa packages, including waivers (Form I-192 if needed)

We assist with a full range of family-based immigration matters, including:

  • Form I-130 petitions for family members abroad or in the U.S.
